Medical Disclaimer

⚠️ CRITICAL NOTICE: READ BEFORE USING ANY TOOL

Biohacker's OS is NOT a medical device. None of our tools have been reviewed, approved, cleared, or certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), or any other regulatory authority worldwide. Our Services are designed exclusively for educational, research, and informational purposes.

1. Not Medical Advice

All content, tools, calculators, analyzers, articles, and information provided through Biohacker's OS are for general educational purposes only. They do NOT constitute:

  • Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
  • Clinical decision support tools
  • Substitutes for professional healthcare consultation
  • Evidence of efficacy for any health intervention
  • Endorsements of specific products, brands, or protocols

Always seek the advice of qualified healthcare professionals (physicians, specialists, registered dietitians, licensed therapists) with any questions regarding medical conditions, treatment options, medication changes, or health concerns. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or calculated using our tools.

2. Individual Variation and Risk

Human biology exhibits substantial inter-individual variability. Responses to health interventions depend on numerous factors including:

  • Genetic predispositions and polymorphisms
  • Baseline health status and comorbidities
  • Current medications and potential drug interactions
  • Age, sex, body composition, and metabolic rate
  • Environmental exposures and lifestyle factors
  • Gut microbiome composition and metabolic capacity
  • Sleep quality, stress levels, and circadian rhythms

What works safely and effectively for one person may be ineffective, harmful, or dangerous for another. Published scientific studies report average effects across populations; individual results will vary.

3. Tool-Specific Disclaimers

3.1 Red Light Therapy Dosage Calculator

This calculator provides theoretical energy density estimates based on physics principles (inverse square law, irradiance attenuation). It does NOT:

  • Guarantee therapeutic outcomes or biological effects
  • Account for individual tissue optical properties (melanin content, blood perfusion, scattering coefficients)
  • Replace manufacturer instructions for specific photobiomodulation devices
  • Constitute medical clearance for light therapy use

Risks: Improper use of red/NIR light devices may cause eye damage (retinal injury), skin burns, headaches, or paradoxical inflammatory responses. Contraindications include photosensitivity disorders, active cancer in treatment area, pregnancy (for abdominal application), and use of photosensitizing medications.

3.2 CGM Glucose Analyzer

This analyzer processes uploaded CSV data from continuous glucose monitoring devices. It does NOT:

  • Provide real-time glucose monitoring or hypoglycemia alerts
  • Replace clinical CGM interpretation by endocrinologists or diabetes educators
  • Diagnose diabetes, prediabetes, or metabolic disorders
  • Guide insulin dosing, medication adjustments, or emergency interventions

Risks: Relying on retrospective CGM analysis instead of real-time monitoring may delay recognition of dangerous glucose excursions. Non-diabetic users should not use CGM data to make extreme dietary restrictions without professional supervision.

3.3 Gut Microbiome Decoder

This decoder interprets self-reported microbiome test results. It does NOT:

  • Diagnose dysbiosis, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), or gastrointestinal diseases
  • Prescribe probiotics, prebiotics, antimicrobials, or fecal microbiota transplantation
  • Replace stool culture, PCR testing, or clinical evaluation by gastroenterologists
  • Guarantee that recommended dietary changes will improve your microbiome

Risks: Self-treating perceived microbiome imbalances may worsen symptoms, mask serious conditions (inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, celiac disease), or lead to unnecessary supplement expenses. Commercial microbiome tests have limited clinical validation and inter-laboratory reproducibility issues.

4. No Doctor-Patient Relationship

Use of Biohacker's OS does NOT establish a doctor-patient relationship, therapist-client relationship, or any other professional healthcare relationship between you and:

  • The founders, developers, or operators of Biohacker's OS
  • Authors of educational content or scientific summaries
  • Researchers cited in our references
  • Any third parties affiliated with this Website

We do not provide personalized medical consultations, review individual health records, prescribe treatments, or assume responsibility for your health outcomes.

5. Emergency Situations

🚨 IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY:

DO NOT use this Website. Immediately call your local emergency number (911 in the United States, 112 in Europe, 999 in the UK) or go to the nearest emergency department. For suicide prevention, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (988 in the US) or your local crisis hotline.

Biohacker's OS is not designed for emergency medical situations and cannot provide urgent care guidance.

6. Scientific Literature and Citations

Our educational content cites peer-reviewed scientific literature. However:

  • Published studies may have methodological limitations, small sample sizes, or conflicts of interest
  • Scientific consensus evolves as new evidence emerges; older citations may be superseded
  • Animal studies and in vitro experiments do not always translate to human clinical benefits
  • Observational studies show correlations, not causation
  • Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) represent ideal conditions that may not reflect real-world effectiveness

We strive to cite high-quality research, but we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or current validity of cited literature. Users should independently verify scientific claims.

7. Supplement and Product Recommendations

Mentions of dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, herbal products, or health devices are for informational purposes only. We do NOT:

  • Endorse specific brands or manufacturers
  • Guarantee product quality, purity, potency, or safety
  • Verify that products contain labeled ingredients (supplement industry has limited FDA oversight)
  • Assess potential drug-supplement interactions for your individual medication regimen

Dietary supplements are not evaluated by the FDA for safety or efficacy before marketing. Consult your physician and pharmacist before starting any supplement, especially if you take prescription medications, have chronic health conditions, are pregnant/nursing, or are giving supplements to children.

8. Assumption of Risk

By using Biohacker's OS, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for any health decisions you make
  • You assume all risks associated with personal health experimentation
  • You will not hold Biohacker's OS liable for any adverse outcomes
  • You have the intellectual capacity to evaluate health information critically
  • You understand that "natural" or "biohacked" interventions are not inherently safe

9. Regulatory Status

FDA Classification

Biohacker's OS operates as an educational platform under Section 5 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Our tools are general wellness products that do not meet the definition of medical devices under 21 CFR 801. We do not claim to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent any disease.

For users outside the United States, similar disclaimers apply under respective national regulatory frameworks (EU Medical Device Regulation, Health Canada guidelines, TGA Australia regulations, etc.).

10. Updates to This Disclaimer

We reserve the right to modify this Medical Disclaimer at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of the modified disclaimer.
